Board of Directors
Don Bachardy , President, is a painter
and writer living in Santa Monica, California. His paintings are in
the permanent collections at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New
York, the Smithsonian Institution in Washington D.C., the National
Portrait Gallery in London and others. His books include Last
Drawings of Christopher Isherwood (Faber and Faber) and Stars
in My Eyes (University of Wisconsin Press). He also co-edited Where
Joy Resides: A Christopher Isherwood Reader (Farrar,
Straus and Giroux).
David Hockney is an internationally
renowned painter whose works and biography are carefully discussed
in the new book David Hockney published by Prestel Verlag
(2000). Los Angeles’s Museum of Contemporary Art currently is
exhibiting a retrospective of his photography.
James P. White,
Vice President and Executive Director, is a novelist who
lives in Montrose, Alabama. White's novels include Birdsong,
California Exit, Clara's Call, and The Persian Oven.
He has been awarded Guggenheim and Fulbright fellowships. He
formerly directed the Master's of Professional Writing at the
University of Southern California and currently directs the creative
writing program at the University of South Alabama.
Staff
Jules White,
Director of Design and Technology, received his B.A. in Computer Science at Brown University and is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Computer Science at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. He is also an artist and is represented by galleries in
Austin and Arlington, Texas, and in Mobile, Alabama. He has
published an article in the Associated Writing Program's Job List
entitled, "Examining America's Commitment to Individual
Artists."
Derek Riley is Assistant to the Director. He is a Ph.D. candidate in Computer Science at Vanderbilt University.
Chris Brown is Assistant to the Director. He teaches in
the English Department at the University of South Alabama. |
